Being a female gamer, I hate seeing constant depictions of female characters being sexualized. This depiction doesn’t give female identifying gamers a whole lot to choose from as far as female character choices in the game.
When talking about sexualization in games, a big question comes to my mind. Why is the character being sexualized in the first place? The answer is because of the appeal towards men. Also, it’s not practical. If the character in the game is fighting or doing anything else, how is wearing a VERY revealing costume going to help them? It isn’t.
Sexualizing characters doesn’t make them more relatable; it only detracts from who they are and distracts the audience. Stop sexualizing characters not only in video games, but also in other media. As the audience, we would like to see a more accurate representation of those characters.
